Cigar History
The history of the cigar goes all the way back to the 10th Century when people from the Mesoamerica had been smoking them. This of course wasn’t discovered until someone would land on their land and see how far back the tradition went. Who knows it may have been long before then. Many people give credit to Christopher Columbus, however he was just the person that showed it to Europe, before that though someone had shown it to him.
Throughout the years many people have discovered the wonderful aroma of a cigar. They’ve become popular on television shows, especially for the bad guys.
But did you know how long a cigar takes to make? Just to cure it will take 45 days and that is just one step. Some cigars have been known to sit and age in barrels for as long as 5 years or more.
The different types of wrappers will also determine the flavor of a cigar and the lighter the color the less sharp the flavor will become. With a cigar you will have a few layers, one is the wrapper, the filler and a binder. The part everyone likes the most though is the filler because of all the wonderful blends of tobacco that are put in. If you get a chance you should find out if a local cigar shop will give you a cigar sample before you make a purchase.
